Q & A

  • What do I need an account for?

You don’t need an account, but we hope you’d like one. Accounts let you edit your feed list, as well as link up with your twitter and last.fm accounts. In addition, you can find a list of tracks you’ve recently heard on the account tab of the website, in case you hear something you like but don’t make a note.

  • Are you going to spam me, sell me name, etc?

No. We don’t even collect your email address. We just need a bare minimum of info to setup and save your account. You don’t have to leave your last.fm or twitter data, and you can use a gibberish username if you like. Just bear in mind we can’t help you recover a lost password.

  • I am in a band, and hate the internet. Get my music off of there.

All tracks are posted by individual blogs with their own posting policies. So if you have a C&D request, you shaould contact the offending blogger. Clicking the “source” link should take you to the post in question and you can talk to them directly. If there is a situation that requires immediate attention, you can reach us through abuse@rsstunes.com and we will look into the matter promptly.

  • I would like my blog in the directory! How do I do that?

Go add it into your feed list in your account. It should automatically get thrown into the pot. Otherwise, shoot us a note on twitter.

  • Why do I need to login to the website and the player?

The player detaches and can run locally on your desktop. We let you log in there to access your personal list of feeds, as well as integrate with sharing and last.fm. The website lets you manage feeds comfortably, shows the list of recent tracks, and allows you to add feeds from the directory to your account (and player) with one click.

  • What if I login to the player with one account and the website with another?

Hmm. Pretty sure they would both behave like they should, they’d just be out of sync with each other. I’d probably try to avoid doing that to get the most out of the deal.

  • Help! I’ve lost my password!

Bummer. You can easily create a new account. Unfortunately, we can’t recover lost passwords because we don’t collect your email address. (see above).

  • Who’s behind this thing?

The content all comes from the bloggers. The application and website are by Mess, a digital agency out of chicago. We are grateful for Microsoft's support exploring Silverlight development on the mac.

  • I have more questions, and twitter. Can I tweet you more questions?

    Absolutely. We’re available @rssTunes
